WHY THIS MATTERS TO ME

Some things are too important to disappear.

Somewhere along the way, I began to realize that preserving family stories is about
more than nostalgia.The memories we carry, the hardships that shaped us, the poor choices we've made, and the ordinary moments we often overlook are the things that remind us how much of this life
we share with one another.We all spend our lives trying to make sense of the life we've been given. We wonder why we're here. We struggle. We love deeply. We lose people. Sometimes we lose things we thought would always be part of our lives. We experience moments of joy and periods of sorrow.
We win some battles and lose others.And maybe, by leaving some of our stories behind, the people who come after us
will catch a glimpse of our humanity.Maybe they'll recognize something of themselves in us.Maybe they'll realize that we didn't have all the answers either. That we sometimes stumbled. That we were afraid. That life didn't always turn out the way we expected, but we kept going.And maybe, somewhere in our stories, they'll find a little courage of their own.Courage to walk forward.Courage to love deeply.Courage to choose what matters most.

My hope is that something of the lives we've lived and the people we've loved may continue to speak long after we are gone. That the stories we leave behind might make the world feel a little less empty, and give those who come after us guidance and courage for their own journey.That's why I created this journal, and why there will be others.To help us pause long enough to notice the beauty woven quietly through ordinary days, changing seasons, and even the difficult moments that shaped us.To choose to walk through life with fresh eyes - attentive to little mercies, hidden joys, and moments of grace that might otherwise pass unnoticed.And, perhaps, to leave a little of that beauty behind.So that one day, someone we love might find our words and know:You weren't the first to walk this road.And you don't walk it alone.

will be few, and difficult. Both are welcome here.
They are part of your story.Write the joys that surprised you. Write the sorrows that weighed upon you. Write the ordinary hours that simply marked time. Over time, you will see that even the quiet days carry weight, that a life is shaped as much by endurance
as by celebration.Write without polishing your memory. Write without performing for an audience you can't see.
